How to obtain an email account through UNM
- If you
are a student of UNM and will be continuing your studies with UNM, you are
eligible for a free UNM email account.
- Click
on Internet Explorer
- Select
New UNM Email Account
- Fill
out the information requested
- Choose
an email name for yourself consisting of 6-8 letter/number combinations
that will be easy for you to remember (Example: ssljacks)
- Choose
a password consisting of 6-8 letter/number combination that will be easy
for you to remember (Example:
hi2u4rme). It will take 24
hours for your information to be processed. After 24 hours you can start sending
emails
How to obtain an email account elsewhere
- Do you
like “Yahoo”? “MSN”, “Hotmail”,
“Juno” or “Earthlink”?
- Do a web search for either one of these web pages.
- Once
you have opened the web page, go to the email account section of that page
- Click
on the information for “Create New Account”
- Fill
out the required information
- Some
Web sites allow you instant access to your email account; others require a
24-hour waiting period. The web
site you choose will display a message informing you of this.
Sending emails
- Send
an email to the instructor titled: “My spring break vacation”
- Email
should be about 1 paragraph long stating what you did or what you will do
when you go on vacation
- Send
another email to your instructor about anything you want and attach something
of your choice (use copy and paste).
- Set
up an address book with your instructor’s name, and 3 classmates. Send an email using the address book
titled “Testing Email”.
- You
can also answer any emails you have received and explore by sending your email
with an attachment or copy and paste a picture on to it.
