This class will be taught by Cinda Johnson, Ed.D of Seattle University. Per diem and mileage will be paid. We are working to find special hotel rates and encourage "buddiying-up" for teachers from the same region. There will be new and expanded material this year including a discussion on High Schools That Work and how GRADS fits into that paradigm, which we are told will be required for ALL high schools in 2007 - so if you attended before, still COME. If you have already signed up for the class ignore this notice.

Quality Assessment

What is going well? What are you most proud of and want to enhance?

Identification of Needs

What is working as well? Where are the gaps? Teacher, administrator and/or district fix? "High Schools That Work" movement and how this fits.

Functional Vocational Assessment

What is it?   What are best practices?  Magellan - How do you use the results? What do the results mean to students? How it fits with POS's.

Day two       8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Career Planning Activities - Facilitating NM's Career Cluster - Next Steps How can this happen during the school day, without additional time and money? How does a continuum of services fit into the plan? How can you embed academics into this work?
