The state GRADS
System has enjoyed legislative support for its self-replicating,
self-sustaining, nationally validated teen parent model. Funding
has made a transition from a 1989 Special Projects appropriation
to inclusion in the 2001budget of the New Mexico Human Services Department with Welfare
Reform funds. These funds flow through the Public Education
Department. The 2005 legislature included NM GRADS in the Public
Education Department's budget
as a reoccurring funded program.
